One Day Women’s Retreat

Gather with Joining Hands, in collaboration with our ambassadors, for a One Day Women’s Retreat to recalibrate – rest your body, relax your mind and restore connection.
In celebration of the divine feminine for International Women’s Day, each ticket sold will give one young homeless woman the opportunity to attend her own retreat experience. Because we all know that when women come together, magic happens!
Join us in The Cabin at Wellwood Health in Loganholme on Sunday March 12 for a full day of experiences, designed to help you slow down and breathe, connect to yourself and others and move and nourish your body.
Arrive at 8:45am, register and settle in. The retreat will begin with an opening circle to meet the women you’ll spend the day with and set your intention for the day.
The day’s retreat will flow as follows…
The Nia dance session with Ann will cater to beginners and experienced movers alike. We will focus on moving in our own body’s way and our own natural time, easing into the moves and finding our own rhythm and pace. Prepare to be guided through simple choreography and enticed to let go of anything you’re holding onto to make space for the joy of movement. Our intent will be to create a sacred experience, to step onto our own path, move and groove to the music and bring awareness to how our body feels. In this space we have the choice to invite in and receive whatever our body needs in the moment.
Asja Svilans will then guide us through simple and uncomplicated recipes to add more nutrition at every meal – through her love of easy to assemble condiments, together we will make lunch and sit down together to enjoy. Before we eat Asja will walk us through a mindful and intuitive eating exercise to start to explore your relationship to the food on your plate.
The afternoon session begins with the opportunity to fill your cup with a relaxing and deeply restorative yoga experience with Georgina from Vitalita Yoga. Incorporating gentle yoga asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing) and guided meditation, this heart-centred practice will help you reconnect with your innate feminine wisdom. Suitable for all ages, abilities and levels of experience.
Our last session is a chance to be immersed in sound and vibration during a gong sound bath. Let the sounds wash over you and experience deep relaxation and a rebalancing of your physical, emotional and spiritual self.
Our retreat will finish with a closing circle. Rejuvenating with a neck, head and should massage during the day.
